The story behind “Niels Uni Dam” is as intriguing as the song itself. It all started when Anna Iachino and Arnold Ludvig found themselves in the bustling streets of New York City back in 2014. Immersed in the vibrant arts scene of Manhattan, they were inspired by the inclusive nature of open mic nights, where music, poetry, comedy, and more came together in a whirlwind of creativity. Upon returning to the laid-back atmosphere of the Faroe Islands, Anna was determined to recreate the magic of those New York nights. With the support of Bogi Andreasen, they launched the Open Mic/Open Stage event at Reinsaríið in Tórshavn. It was during these gatherings that Anna encountered Niels Uni Dam, a dedicated attendee known for his lightning-fast fixes whenever errors popped up.

The song “Niels Uni Dam” was born out of Anna’s fascination with Niels’ uncanny ability to swiftly rectify any mishaps. With a catchy melody and playful lyrics, the track pays homage to Niels’ knack for quick fixes while infusing the Faroese spirit into its core. MonkeyRat’s “Niels Uni Dam” is more than just a song; it’s a celebration of community, creativity, and the quirky characters that make life interesting. From its funky beats to its lighthearted storytelling, this track is sure to put a smile on your face and get your feet tapping. So, get ready to groove along with MonkeyRat as they take you on a musical journey unlike any other.
