Reviving Rock ‘n’ Roll Vibes, Rich Kid Express Rolls Out Catchy Anthems

Rob Richardson, the mastermind behind Rich Kid Express, is a one-man circus bringing back the golden era of big riffs and hooks. With influences ranging from KISS to Spinal Tap, Richardson’s project is a solo endeavor that pays homage to the glory days of rock and roll. The EP, featuring tracks like “U NEVER,” “HARD TIME LADY,” “MR. SPIFFSTER,” “THAT’S THE WAY,” and “THE DOTTED LINE,” is a joyful blend of 70’s glam rock, arena rock, and a touch of metal. Each song is a testament to Richardson’s knack for crafting straightforward, catchy rock anthems.

“U NEVER” channels an Alice Cooper meets Judas Priest vibe, while “HARD TIME LADY” exudes a classic KISS aura. “MR. SPIFFSTER” starts with a nod to The Knack’s “My Sharona” but evolves into a power pop gem with an early 80’s feel. “THAT’S THE WAY” captures the essence of 70’s glam with influences from T-Rex, Slade, and Sweet, all with a modern edge. Finally, “THE DOTTED LINE” delivers an unapologetically 80’s rocker, exploring the story of a faded rock star. Recorded at Squib Kick Sounds in Advance, NC, the EP was engineered and mixed by Richardson himself. Mastering was done by Dave Harris at Studio B Mastering in Charlotte, NC. The result is a collection of tracks that are uniquely fresh yet firmly rooted in the spirit of rock and roll.

Rich Kid Express embodies the ethos of rock’s unadulterated fun. As Richardson aptly puts it, “No re-invention of the wheel, but uniquely fresh and different!” This EP is a testament to the enduring power of rock and roll, reminding us that sometimes, all you need is a catchy riff and a whole lot of heart.
