The Flying Beets Soaring High with ‘Villain’

Fort Worth, Texas-based indie rock outfit The Flying Beets has once again graced our playlists with their latest single, “Villain,” marking their third release to date. In just 27 days since its debut, the track has already garnered an impressive 10,000 streams on Spotify, a testament to the band’s growing popularity. Led by the talented singer-songwriter and guitarist Nathan Waller, The Flying Beets deliver a mesmerizing performance on “Villain.” Backed by the solid rhythm section of bassist David Cross and drummer Kenn Scott, known for his role in the ’90s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie franchise, the band creates a sonic landscape that is both captivating and dynamic.

“Villain” exudes a nostalgic charm reminiscent of the ’90s, infused with the infectious energy of ’60s surf rock. Waller’s vocals are a standout feature, drawing comparisons to iconic artists such as Roy Orbison, Chris Isaac, Elvis Costello, and Eddie Vedder. His evocative delivery adds depth and emotion to the song, evoking a sense of longing and introspection. What sets “Villain” apart is its irresistible hooks and infectious melodies, coupled with Waller’s expertly crafted guitar work. Each element of the track is meticulously arranged, creating a seamless fusion of rhythm and melody that lingers in the listener’s mind long after the song has ended.

Despite their relatively recent formation in the spring of 2022, The Flying Beets showcase a maturity and musical prowess that far surpass their years together. “Villain” serves as a testament to their growth as artists and musicians, solidifying their place in the indie rock scene and leaving fans eagerly awaiting what the future holds for this talented trio.
