Everything But The Everything’s A & B Sides Vol. Two: A Dynamic Return to Alt-Punk

Everything But The Everything has made a triumphant return with their new EP, A & B Sides Vol. Two, after a year-long hiatus. This Bay Area band, fronted by Izzy The Gent and featuring a lineup of talented musicians, delivers two compelling tracks that highlight their distinct alt-punk sound.

The EP opens with “Hotshot,” a track that immediately immerses listeners in a vibrant, new wave-inspired atmosphere. The song’s production, courtesy of Rex Shelverton, brings a rich texture to the forefront. The blend of Prise’s emotive vocals with Izzy The Gent’s Casio keyboard, processed through vintage equipment, creates a unique sonic landscape. Prise’s vocal performance on “Hotshot” is particularly noteworthy; her delivery is both intense and heartfelt, capturing a raw emotional edge. The melody is complex, filled with rapid-fire lyrics that push the boundaries of conventional song structure, creating a sense of urgency and excitement. This track exemplifies the band’s ability to infuse punk energy with sophisticated, emotionally charged elements.

The second track, “Salt,” showcases a different side of Everything But The Everything’s musical spectrum. It combines the gritty essence of punk rock with a polished, pop-infused melody. The song is driven by powerful bass lines from Izzy The Gent, energetic drumming from Chad Roxxit, and sharp guitar riffs from Ian Dowd. Prise’s vocal performance here is equally compelling, with a chorus that is both catchy and anthemic. The track’s raw energy is balanced by its melodic sensibility, making “Salt” a standout with its infectious rhythm and memorable hooks. The song captures the band’s dynamic range and their knack for creating engaging, high-energy punk anthems. A & B Sides Vol. Two  highlights the band’s creative growth and their passion for pushing the boundaries of alt-punk. Each track offers a glimpse into their evolving sound, blending emotional depth with infectious energy. The EP is a testament to the band’s ability to deliver fresh, exciting music while staying true to their roots. Whether you’re drawn to the intricate, emotionally charged “Hotshot” or the energetic, melodic “Salt,” this release reaffirms Everything But The Everything’s position as a vital force in the alt-punk scene.
