“MIDNIGHT TRAINS is not music made to follow trends—it is a survival story turned into sound, where pain becomes melody and every note carries the weight of a life fought for.”
Lior Golan’s MIDNIGHT TRAINS is more than a rock EP. It is a deeply personal statement from an artist who has used music as a way to survive, heal, and reconnect with himself. This five-track release is built from years of struggle, friendship, loss, and determination. It does not come from a desire to create something purely commercial. It comes from passion, pain, and the need to express emotions that could not stay silent.

Based in Tel Aviv, Lior Golan has spent years developing his sound alongside guitarist Gabriel Lefelman, a partnership that began 15 years ago and survived countless challenges. Their story feels connected to the spirit of classic rock itself: two musicians chasing a vision despite difficult circumstances, limited opportunities, and personal battles. From meeting on the streets of Tel Aviv to creating songs together through different versions of their band, the connection between Lior and Gabriel became the foundation of this project. MIDNIGHT TRAINS represents the moment where those years of work finally found their place. the EP carries the influence of legendary rock artists while maintaining its own emotional identity. The powerful dynamics of Led Zeppelin, the darkness of Black Sabbath, and the atmospheric depth of Pink Floyd can be felt throughout the release. Heavy guitars, expressive vocals, dramatic arrangements, and carefully placed textures create a sound that feels raw but controlled. Lior understands the importance of space in rock music, allowing each instrument to breathe while still delivering the power and intensity that define the genre. The songs on MIDNIGHT TRAINS carry the emotional weight of someone confronting his own past. Tracks like “Cruel Wind,” “Midnight Train,” “1991,” and “You Tried Your Best” reflect themes of struggle, reflection, and the search for a new beginning. The closing track, “You Tried Your Best,” delivers one of the EP’s most powerful moments, capturing the feeling of rebuilding yourself after everything has fallen apart. The lyric, “And now my time has come, to be whole again, from distant stars to a human heart, I shall serve a light,” perfectly represents the spirit behind the entire project.
Recorded at Shardo Studio in Israel, the EP benefits from a live recording approach that keeps the human energy intact. Recording bass and drums together created a natural movement within the songs, while keyboard contributions from Niv Hovav added Hammond organ, synth, and piano textures that expanded the atmosphere. The additional guitar layers bring depth without taking away from the honesty of the performances. The production allows listeners to hear the emotion behind the music rather than hiding it beneath excessive polish. What makes MIDNIGHT TRAINS stand out is the truth behind it. These songs spent years sitting on a laptop while Lior fought personal battles and worked toward recovery. Now released, they represent more than a debut EP—they represent a return. Every track carries the feeling of someone finding his voice again and wanting that same healing energy to reach others. MIDNIGHT TRAINS is a reminder that music can be more than entertainment. Sometimes it can be a place to put the things we cannot say, a light during difficult moments, and a connection between people who have experienced pain. Lior Golan has created an honest rock record that does not pretend life is easy, but shows that even after the darkest nights, there is still a reason to keep moving forward.
