At the center of the band’s sound is the vocal presence of Kerri Murray. Her voice carries a natural lift, especially on tracks like “Staying With You” and “Take My Hand.” There is a softness in her delivery, but also a steady confidence. It pulls the songs forward without overpowering them. Around her, the guitars, keys, bass, and drums form a simple but effective structure. James Shumway and Mark Roos shape much of the songwriting, and you can tell the focus is on melody first. Songs like “Wings to Fly” and “Desert Sky” feel open and reflective.
