“LEBOWSKY SONG” is a loud reminder that you do not have to spend your whole life chasing the next big thing. Sometimes, doing less is exactly the point.
There is something refreshing about a rock song that basically tells you to slow down. That is the idea behind LIQUEEDO’s “LEBOWSKY SONG.” Inspired by The Big Lebowski and its famously laid-back central character, the song takes a swing at the pressure to always be doing more. More money. More success. More recognition. More of everything. LIQUEEDO looks at that whole race and pretty much says, why are we doing this to ourselves?

It is a simple message, but the band does not deliver it quietly. The song comes in with the kind of attitude you would expect from a rock band that grew up listening to The Stone Roses, The Smiths, Oasis and the Sex Pistols. There are rough guitar sounds, a driving rhythm and a punk edge running through it. It feels loose rather than overly polished. That suits the subject. A song about letting go would probably lose some of its charm if it sounded too carefully controlled. Arturo Molinara, the man behind LIQUEEDO, clearly had fun with the idea too. The Dude is not treated as just a film character here. He becomes a way of looking at life. You do not always need to be climbing. You do not always need a five-year plan. There is nothing wrong with sitting down, putting on some music, having a drink and giving yourself a break.
That part of the song feels especially relevant now. Everyone seems to be in a hurry. Social media makes it easy to feel like everyone else is achieving something while you are standing still. There is always another goal to chase and another person to compare yourself with. “LEBOWSKY SONG” pushes back against all of that. LIQUEEDO has been building toward this kind of release for some time. Molinara started playing music as a teenager, singing songs by British bands in a cover group before eventually forming the Oceans and performing around Italy. The current LIQUEEDO project grew from old demos and unfinished ideas that were brought back to life during the COVID period. That history gives the music some character. There is a clear love for British rock running through the project, but LIQUEEDO has made it their own. “LEBOWSKY SONG” is not trying to solve the world’s problems. It has a drink, a guitar and a fairly simple suggestion instead: take a breath. Turn the noise down for a while. You might be surprised by how good doing absolutely nothing can feel.
