“The way they combined the original melodies with the dance beats is both exciting and surprising — they really put some magic into it.”
Swedish post-punk project Killing Kind returns with a bold new take on their single “Humanity” via the Magic Wands Remix, released on March 13th, 2026. Originally featured on the album Being Human, this remix takes the melancholic textures of the original and spins them into a hypnotic, drum-driven dancefloor experience. Fans of darkwave, post-punk, and dream-pop will find themselves drawn into the track’s shadowy atmosphere, where 80s-inspired textures meet contemporary club energy.

Killing Kind began during the pandemic in 2021 with Mats Molund, Mats Wigerdal, and Björn Norberg, all veterans of the Swedish post-punk scene. They were soon joined by guest musicians, bringing fresh dimensions to the band’s dark, textured sound. Their 2023 self-titled debut and 2025 follow-up Being Human both earned critical praise for their blend of melodic depth, textured atmospheres, and authentic post-punk roots. The original “Humanity” stood out for its emotional intensity, and Magic Wands—Los Angeles-based dream-pop duo Chris and Dexy Valentine—transform it into a club-ready remix while respecting the track’s core melodies.
The remix is driven by pulsating drums, shimmering electronic layers, and hypnotic grooves that push the song into a fresh sonic space. Björn Norberg shares, “I like to be surprised! Magic Wands really put some magic into it,” reflecting the thrill of collaboration that bridges continents and genres. This single highlights Killing Kind’s commitment to evolution while staying rooted in the dark, textured sound that has defined their work. Fans of Joy Division, Depeche Mode, and modern darkwave will find “Humanity (Magic Wands Remix)” a compelling addition to their playlists, balancing shadowy introspection with danceable energy.
