“The Break of Day captures the magic of sunrise on the dancefloor—where nostalgia, melody, and emotion rise together.”
Electronic artist SLAPPER returns with The Break of Day, a melodic trance single that channels the spirit of late-90s Ibiza club culture while delivering a fresh, cinematic energy. Built around uplifting synths and a carefully structured progression, the track reflects the artist’s long-standing passion for emotionally driven electronic music and sunrise-inspired soundscapes.

Running at 125 BPM, The Break of Day unfolds gradually, beginning with atmospheric textures before evolving into a powerful melodic climax. The track’s design mirrors the moment its title suggests—the quiet anticipation of night slowly transforming into the optimism of a new day. This progression gives the single an emotional arc that feels both reflective and triumphant, making it equally suited for immersive listening and uplifting dancefloor moments. SLAPPER’s music draws influence from pioneers of electronic and synth-driven sound such as Jean‑Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk, Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, Robert Miles, Moby, and Chicane. Those influences can be heard in the song’s melodic sensibility and atmospheric depth, where nostalgia and modern production techniques blend seamlessly.
The SLAPPER project began in the late 1990s in Bucharest with Claudiu-Gabriel Tache as its sole member, responsible for synthesizers and programming. Over the years, he became a familiar presence in the city’s club scene, performing DJ sets across venues such as Indie, Kulturhaus, and Club A. His live appearances also included notable opening performances for Alphaville and De/Vision, further shaping his experience within the European electronic music landscape. Following a hiatus, the project returned with renewed creative energy. The 2023 album Music Box Memories explored synthwave aesthetics and introduced singles such as Waves and Venus at Midnight. Subsequent releases continued to expand the project’s sonic identity, including the introspective 2024 single Mirrors and the emotionally driven track Hope in 2025. The Break of Day, released on March 6, 2026, continues this evolution. The single revisits the uplifting trance roots that defined a generation of club music while maintaining SLAPPER’s signature emphasis on atmosphere, storytelling, and emotional resonance. the track stands as a tribute to the enduring power of melodic electronic music—capturing that timeless moment when the dancefloor fades into daylight and the promise of a new beginning rises with the sun.
